Who Goes There?
A deconstructed version of Shakespeare's HAMLET incorporating film, live action and soundscape.
Each venue was transformed into the court of Elsinore, allowing the audience to promenade through corridors, galleries, ante-rooms and performance areas, witnessing and eavesdropping on the action around them. Scenes, images and snatches of dialogue could erupt from among them, behind them and above them, or from behind a curtain, half-closed door, pane of glass or peephole. Scenes may be inter-cut, re-arranged, played simultaneously or repeated. They may be played as flashbacks and dream sequences or projected onto walls and through video monitors.
By focusing less exclusively on Hamlet, and following more equally the journeys of all the main characters, Who Goes There paints a vivid picture of a fragmented and disintegrating society.
