The Rest is Silence

THE REST IS SILENCE, is a vibrant new production of Hamlet. The work seamlessly interweaves
live performance with live film and sound within a multi-faceted set. A sense of visual and oral
fragmentation is found through a textual deconstruction, painting a vivid picture of a disintegrating
society.

THE REST IS SILENCE is designed for mid to large scale proscenium arch theatres, creating a
multidimensional and site-specific setting – but within a proscenium context. Interior settings and
installations are set up both on stage and all around each theatre site and its immediate surroundings.
Live film accesses all these areas projecting directly onto screens onstage. In this way everyone is a
protagonist, with live film intimately charting the journeys of all the main characters both on and
offstage, eavesdropping on their most intimate moments.
