Don't Look Back

New
Register House, Edinburgh
Presented as part of the British Council Edinburgh Showcase at the current
Scottish registry for Births, Marriages and Deaths, we explored the piece
mainly through the striking multi-tiered ironwork dome that still houses
unique records of people of Scotland from centuries past. The piece is
dedicated to the builiding, to the staff who devote themselves to the
preservation of these records, and the registered occupants of those records.
With support from Arts Council England, Arts & Business, British Council
and Made in Brighton ltd.

Grad
Kodeljevo, Ljubljana, Slovenia
A highly successful, sell-out re-creation of the piece, that wound its
way through the upper floors of an 18th century mansion house and chapel
near the centre of Ljubljana. We
are grateful to the Exodus Festival and the British Council for supporting
the production with particular thanks to the Exodus production team and
all local performers involved in the production.
"Individual
scenes are built inventively and attract the spectator with a strong emotional
charge, which they entice out of the spectator as well. The point of the
setting hides in the interesting twist: A certain kind of an objective
observation of the mourners at a certain point overturns into awareness
that it is precisely the spectator for whom everything is intended. The
spectator is the person locked in the coffin and carried to final rest….beautiful."
