An intimate walk-in installation combining film and live performance, commissioned by IGNITE 09 at the Royal Opera House, in response to Thomas Ades' Powder Her Face, based on the life of Margaret, Duchess of Argyll.
Specially created for the Supper Rooms in the basement of the Royal Opera House building in Covent Garden, the production re-imagined the Opera House foyer and plush-carpeted lower floors as the faded grandeur of the hotel where the Duchess lived prior to her ignominious eviction.
ABSENT was commissioned by IGNITE 09 for THE ROYAL OPERA HOUSE, Covent Garden.
